Ford has just announced another addition to the F-150 Lightning lineup. It’s a new model called Flash, but contrary to what the name suggests, we’re not talking about a pickup truck focused on performance and speed, like the one that was rumored earlier this year .
The F-150 Lightning Flash is rather a response to the demand of many consumers who wanted a more complete and cutting-edge entry-level XLT model – or, conversely, a well-equipped pickup truck but more affordable.
On the menu, we find the larger of the two batteries (the 131 kWh one which allows you to travel up to 515 km), hands-free driving technology on the Ford BlueCruise highway (version 1.2 allowing assisted lane changes) and a 15.5-inch touchscreen.

Added to this are an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate, a suite of towing technologies and a heat pump optimizing efficiency and range. drums.
Online orders for the F-150 Lightning Flash will be possible around early 2024, with a US base price of $69,995. The Car Guide still waiting for a response from Ford Canada to find out if a similar model will be offered here too.

Special edition and reduced prices
Recall that in August, Ford announced the arrival of a black F-150 Lightning Platinum, a special edition at the top of the scale that stands out with its matte black exterior – a first for a production Ford pickup truck.
There are additionally 22-inch matte black finished wheels, black Nirvana premium leather seats as well as a numbered aluminum plaque in two different locations, with production for the entire North American market being limited at 2,000 units. The Canadian price is not yet known, but deliveries will begin in early 2024.

Speaking of pricing, major drops were applied to the F-150 Lightning in mid-summer. The Pro model now sells from $59,000 and is no longer only offered to businesses but also to individuals. In Quebec, the applicable grants total $12,000 (taxes included), which makes an even bigger difference.
Then, the standard range XLT, extended range XLT and standard range Lariat versions saw their prices drop by $10,000 to $69,000, $85,000 and $80,000 respectively. The extended-range Lariat costs $99,000, down $9,000.
As for the Platinum version, available only with the largest battery, it now starts at $115,000, a reduction of $6,000. Remember that transportation and preparation costs of $2,295 must be added in all cases.
