Free telephone, delivery of parcels pending or even training proposals … All of these offers turn out to be financial scams. Young people are particularly targeted by these crooks who take advantage of their naivety.
Online, they post the dream. An appealing speech for young people. For a young student, it all starts with a video from an influencer presenting the benefits of trading. Very quickly, he also registers on a site to invest. “To me it looks like my bank’s site. I can see the different withdrawals or deposits that I have made. I was rather reassured because it is something that works, I have control over it, if I ask for something it is done quite quickly so it still gives you confidence “. At first, everything goes well. In all, he bet around 8,000 euros, which he makes by bank transfer to the four corners of the world. A sum of money he will never see again. He will no longer hear from the people with whom they were in contact. He filed a scam complaint.
AMS (Authority of Financial Markets) receives more and more reports of students who have fallen for the trap. The journalists managed to get in touch with one of these recruiters. He claims that the trainings are bogus and he is charged with charging hundreds of dollars a month for bogus investment advice. Thus, he trapped dozens of people, friends, and even relatives. “It was totally a psychological hold”, he admits. The perpetrators of these scams face two years in prison and a fine of 300,000 euros.
