Ukraine on Tuesday stopped its search for survivors in Dnipro (center-east) in the rubble of a residential building destroyed by a Russian missile. “Rescue operations lasted 69 hours. (…) 79 people were injured, including 16 children. 28 people are currently hospitalized, 10 are in serious condition. 45 people were killed, including six children, including the youngest was 11 months”wrote an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
Pressure on Germany to deliver leopard tanks. Finnish, Lithuanian, Polish and British leaders on Tuesday called on Olaf Scholz to quickly authorize the delivery of leopard tanks, coveted by Ukraine. “We hope and try to organize more support for Ukraine”said Polish President Andrzej Duda in Davos. “We hope that the manufacturer of these tanks, Germany, will also participate”he added.
Helping Ukraine, “a moral imperative” according to London. British Foreign Minister James Cleverly on Tuesday justified sending tanks to Ukraine to help the country “to push back” Russians. “The message we send (to Russian President Vladimir) Putin (…) is that we are committed to defending the Ukrainians until they win”he said during a trip to Washington.
