Jean-Luc Mélenchon had announced, in thebetween-two-rounds of the presidential election, his ambition to become Prime Minister through the legislative elections. But, for that, he must begin by bringing together the left widely.

In the legislative elections, will the left show a united face? On the evening of Sunday April 24, Jean-Luc Mélenchon (BIA) asked the Union of Left Parties: On June 12 and 19, another world is still possible if you elect a majority of deputies of the new popular union which must expand.

“You don’t have to be the dumbest left in the world anymore“, asserts an elected socialist. But the negotiations promise to be complicated, with sticking points on Europe, pensions or the sixth Republic. The Insoumis want us to start from their program to negotiate, we don’t have time. We just need to agree on a common base of reforms“, denounces a figure of environmentalists. Another sticking point: do we need a common candidate each time, and how should the constituencies be distributed? A first meeting between rebels and socialists is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27.
