“The necessary financing” to fight against climate change “are far from being on the table”regretted Monday September 18 on franceinfo the leader of Europe Ecology – The Greens (EELV) at the European Marie Toussaint, after Elisabeth Borne presented the “ecological planning” from the government to party leaders.

The Prime Minister did not go into detail about the measures, the main announcements having to be reserved for a speech by Emmanuel Macron on September 25. “It doesn’t seem like there is awareness”she denounced, saying however “wait for the measures that will be presented”.

Elisabeth Borne, however, mentioned an acceleration of the policy carried out on electric cars and on the renovation of housing, as well as a slowdown in the use of gas boilers. “The measures put on the table are not up to par”declared the environmentalist candidate to the Europeans. “We need systemic, deep change in our society.”

Asked about the migration situation on the Italian island of Lampedusa, where around 8,500 people have arrived aboard 199 boats over the past week, Marie Toussaint called for “find the means to welcome these people in a dignified manner”. “If France took its part, we would have to welcome around a thousand refugees. We are capable of doing so”; she believes.
