the nationalists between abstention and neither nor

Macron or Le Pen? The nationalists have decided: it will be neither. The separatists (Corsica libera and Core in Fronte), as in the first round, call for abstention, an abstention they wish to strengthen compared to April 10. As for the autonomists, it is the line of neither nor who prevails, no voting instructions. Position adopted recently by Femu a Corsica, the party of the territorial majority, of Gilles Simeoni, very discreet in recent weeks, whereas five years ago he had clearly called to vote Emmanuel Macron. It was therefore his party which this time delivered the message between the two rounds. Not a vote for Marine Le Pen, but no support for the outgoing president either. “His program, his vision (of Marine Le Pen, editor’s note) are at odds with our values and our political choices, the nationalist fight that we have been leading for 50 years, explains François Martinetti, the national secretary of Femu in Corsica. We call not to vote for the RN candidate (…) but the Girondin pact promised by Emmanuel Macron has only given way to a Jacobin line, cold, contemptuous of democracy, guided by the prefectural, which today does not does not suit us”.

Same tone on the PNC side. For its leader, Jean-Christophe Angelini, the position is obvious: “Our values, our social project lead us not to let a single voice go to Marine Le Pen. Conversely, given what has happened recently, we cannot decently call for a vote for the outgoing president.

Le Pen, Macron or abstention? Corsican voters will make their choice on Sunday. In the first round, they had placed the RN candidate well ahead of the outgoing president. Abstention had slightly exceeded 37%.
