An executive from the National Rally assures franceinfo that the party will no longer sit with its German ally in the European Parliament.

“Following recent statements by the AfD, we will no longer sit with them in the next term in the European Parliament”declared a National Rally executive to franceinfo, confirming information from the daily Libération.

A break between the National Rally and its German ally Alternative fûr Deutschland (AfD) which comes following comments made by the head of the German party list for the European elections, Maximilian Krah, who declared to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica the May 18 that a “SS was not automatically a criminal.” The RN was until now a member of the Identity and Democracy (ID) group with the AfD party.
