A start to the year with great pomp, the national orchestra of Metz announces the colors with its traditional New Year’s concert. On the program, great classics of opera: Carmen, The Cid, Samson and Delilah. But also waltzes, the Strauss brothers’ polka, for a dive into the heart of the imperial balls of yesteryear. Always with the same slogan: “very cheerful works, a little in the spirit of these end-of-year celebrations“, says Florence Alibert, general manager of the Cité Musicale in Metz.
A grandiose concert to listen to at the Arsenal in Metz, an intimate room with 1,350 seats. A small capacity, which makes it possible to ensure the spectacle, despite the new sanitary conditions imposed for three weeks on the cultural world. The orchestra passes between the drops for the moment, almost all the performances are maintained, with the exception of that of Sarrebourg, a true miracle.
The rest of the musical program of the musical city of Metz is less fortunate.
