Many trees fell during Storm Ciaran, which continued to cause damage. “The ONF calls on users to postpone their walk in the forest and wait until the very beginning of next week” to return there, alert Thursday November 2 on franceinfo, Régine Touffait, forestry engineer from the National Forestry Office (ONF).

“The forests remain dangerous for several days after the storm” explains the engineer. They have been “weakened, the soils have been very wet and are therefore loose. At the slightest gust of wind, the trees can still fall. There are also broken branches which can be suspended and can fall”she continues.

“The ONF therefore calls on users to postpone their walk in the forest” until the beginning of next week, at “let the weekend pass” before going back for a walk or picking mushrooms.
