Arras will host the national ceremony of tribute to the victims of terrorism, chaired by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, Monday March 11, according to information from France Bleu Nord from corroborating sources. For the first time since the establishment of this ceremony in 2020, it will not be held in Paris.

Matignon proposed that the town of Arras in Pas-de-Calais, devastated by the assassination of Professor Dominique Bernard on October 13, 2023, host the ceremony this year. Since 2020, it has been held at the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris.

600 guests are expected at the Arras citadel on Monday morning, including families of victims, ministers and local elected officials. The Prime Minister will give a speech, readings of texts must also take place, as well as tributes to teachers Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard, killed by Islamist terrorists. Since 2020, France has paid tribute to those who died in terrorist attacks during a European day of tribute set for March 11, the date of the Madrid attacks in 2004.
