They will soon disappear from tobacco. MPs unanimously adopted on Monday December 4 a transpartisan bill to ban the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes. These “puffs” are very popular with young people, sometimes including minors. “Puffs are aimed mainly at a very young audience. The strategies and innovations of manufacturers and the tobacco industry are incessant”explained environmentalist MP Francesca Pasquini to franceinfo, at the origin of the law.

Supported by Francesca Pasquini and Michel Lauzzana (Renaissance), the text supported by the government was welcomed by all political groups and adopted by the 104 deputies present. It will now have to go to the Senate, but also obtain the approval of the European Commission, in a procedure that the government hopes to see completed by the end of next summer.
