MNAs from all parties supported a motion to this effect tabled by the parliamentary leader of Québec solidaire, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, on Tuesday.

If the National Assembly is concerned “about the current disturbances in Ontario and around certain federal border crossings”, it maintains that “no emergency situation currently justifies the use of special legislative measures”.

Still according to the text of the motion, “the National Assembly reiterates the importance of close cooperation between the federal government and the government of Quebec, in particular to ensure the tranquility and safety of the citizens of the Outaouais who suffer the repercussions ongoing protests in Ottawa that could bear the brunt of any deterioration in the situation”.
