The National Assembly validated the health bill, Monday, July 25, in a version resulting from an agreement with the Senate in a joint committee. It was voted by 184 votes against 149. There remains one last step before its final adoption: the Senate vote on Tuesday.
With the exception of a handful of deputies, the PS and LR groups voted for the text with the majority, allowing its adoption. The RN, LFI, communist and LIOT groups came out against it. Environmentalists preferred to abstain.
At first reading, on 12 July, theOppositions from right and left had inflicted a setback on the government by rejecting a flagship measure of the text: the possibility of restoring health control at the borders of France and between overseas territories and France.
This measure was reintroduced in the joint committee. En the event of the appearance of a new, particularly dangerous Covid variant, the government may impose the presentation of a negative test on boarding, and not a health pass as initially provided for in the text.
