Four days after the attack on police officers with knives, in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), “the state of health of the respondent now allows the resumption of the course of the procedure”, announced the parquet floor of Grasse in a press release, Friday, November 12. “The national anti-terrorist prosecution did not retain its jurisdiction, the Grasse prosecution therefore remains in charge of this case”, specifies the prosecutor of Grasse in a press release, Friday, November 12.
A judicial investigation was opened of the counts of “attempted assassinations on police officers” and of “violence resulting in a total interruption of work of less than 8 days with premeditation, weapon and on police officers”. “This referral to the investigating judge is accompanied by a request for the provisional detention of the person concerned”, further specifies the press release. The assailant, a 37-year-old Algerian national, was taken to the Nice hospital after being shot twice.
