“This attack as cowardly as barbarian leaves the whole country in mourning.” During an address to the National Assembly on Friday, October 29, Prime Minister Jean Castex expressed the support of “the nation” who “shares the pain and the immense emotion of the families of the victims of Nice and of the whole Catholic community which was struck in the heart”, a year after the attack on the Notre-Dame basilica in Nice which left three dead. “Our response will be firm, relentless and immediate”, he insisted.

“The Nation does not forget the pain of the families and relatives of the victims, nor the heroism of those who took all the risks to put an end to this barbaric attack”, also said the head of government.
