At the edge of a vast pond, a crowd throngs in front of a stage set up for 10 days of concerts. This exceptional setting is about fifty minutes from Lyon. The bird park of Villars-les-Dombes organizes an extraordinary festival in the middle of nature every year. To open this 13th edition, the French group Fire ! Chatterton kicked off the festivities on August 30. The public was there to listen to the poetic and pop melodies of the performers ofA new world. “It’s full of poetry, love, thrills. I’m in love”, laughs a conquered spectator.
The festival has only just begun and will continue until September 11. Several artists are expected, Zaz on September 1 with his fifth album created during confinement. Bernard Lavilliers will also be present to complete two evenings, one of which is already full. His last album played on collaborations, especially with the group Black land winner of a Victoire de la Musique in the revelations category. But also Izïa, Gaëtan Roussel, Hervé and Eric Cantona united in one piece Who Killed Davy Moore? The program also counts on Christophe Mahé and Bénabar to attract crowds. Nostalgics can dive back into the 60s with an exceptional concert by Sylvie Vartan. Finally, the Frenchman Ben Mazué will end the Musicales in style with a trip to Heaventhe name of his latest album.
Founded in 2010, the festival allows you to attend intimate concerts in the heart of an animal park, surrounded by a rich variety of birds. A few specimens regularly fly over the scene with an intrigued eye, lending a touch of magic to the atmosphere. The previous edition brought together 24,000 spectators, this year will perhaps achieve a new record for the Musicales, the places are at Reserve on the event site.
