the Musée des Verts, the Cité du Design and the site of Le Corbusier de Firminy

“My France, summer” receives Anne-Berthe, head of public service on Le Corbusier, to discuss the great architectural ensemble of the Firminy-Vert district, designed by the famous architect. The construction of this district, classified as a “20th century heritage”, was decided in 1954 by the mayor of Firminy, a commune in the suburbs of Saint-Étienne, to offer modern living conditions to the inhabitants.

We continue the discovery of the city with the presentation of the Mixer, by Anne-France Decroix, who is the deputy director and responsible for the reception, promotion and communication center of this third place dedicated to the arts, design and science, a business incubator and meeting place. Located near the Cité du Design, in the Manufacture district, it is the link between the past and the future of the city.

Because the city’s past was also sporting, Laurent Chastellierehead of the Musée des Verts, comes to talk to us about the glory days of the Saint-Etienne training to which the Musée des Vets is dedicated.

And we can’t talk about Saint-Étienne without talking about bicycles, since that’s where the first bicycle was manufactured in 1886. Pierre-Edouard Bouchetco-founder of the Ateliers du cycle français, tells us about the adventure of Manufrance and introduces us to his company, created in April 2021 to give new players in soft mobility the possibility of producing directly in France.

Because Saint-Étienne is also rooted in its century, the artist Fernando Davila comes to present the street art route offered by the city and its region.

The “Green Initiative” of the day is that of the association Graines, which comes to present to us Julien Viricel.
