The Moulin Rouge regains color. The Parisian cabaret, which saw its wings and the letters M, O and U fall on April 25, welcomed four new temporary blades on Monday June 24. They will be assembled one by one before an inauguration scheduled for July 5. The four red blades, a mixture of aluminum and steel, arrived very early in the morning by truck in front of this legendary place, located at the foot of the Montmartre hill, in the heart of the Pigalle district, which will celebrate its 135th anniversary in October .

The new device is temporary and does not allow the wings to rotate, according to the establishment, which wanted to have new wings for the passage of the Olympic flame in front of the famous establishment on July 15. “New wings, definitive and capable of rotating, are planned, but at a date still unknown”, depending on management. At the end of April, it affirmed that it could exclude any “malicious act” to explain the incident.

A first blade was mounted by a crane. The other three had to be hoisted onto the terrace one by one. It will take approximately four days for the wings to be attached and electrical connections to be finalized, according to the facility. Four more days will be needed to remove the tarpaulin and scaffolding.
