A 32-year-old man was sentenced on Friday September 9 to 2 and a half years in prison by the court of Lille, after injuring four police officers while trying to flee a control on Wednesday September 7 in Marcq-en-Barœul.
That afternoon, in the Briqueterie district, police on motorbikes wanted to control the presence of drugs in his car. The man, already convicted of drug possession and driving without a license, fled, hitting one of the bikers in his race. The police officer receives 3 weeks of temporary work stoppage for a broken arm. Three of his colleagues are more slightly injured.
At the helm, the driver acknowledged all the facts. This sentence of 4 years in prison, including 18 months suspended, remains lower than the requisitions of the prosecutor, who claimed 5 years in prison, including 2 suspended.
The man was imprisoned as soon as he leaves court.
