The mother of the 11-year-old child found dead on Saturday, October 30, on the banks of the Huveaune in Marseille admits having killed him, the Marseille prosecutor said in a press release on Sunday. Her police custody is extended on Sunday evening, she will be referred during the day on Monday for the opening of a judicial investigation into the count of murder of a 15-year-old minor.
The mother, 39 and unknown to the police, “first hit his son in the apartment, then took him into the ‘ravine’ and killed him on the spot with a knife taken from the kitchen”. She then left her son’s body there. She is “returned shortly after to get rid of things”.
The elements collected during the investigation by the judicial police at his home, along the banks of the Huveaune and the surveillance videos “corroborated the statements of the mother, in particular on the fact that the child died on Friday afternoon, even before the report of his disappearance”, explains the prosecutor. The mother of the 11-year-old explained that she could no longer manage her son and his autism-related seizures.
The body of the child, discovered by his uncle and his father, presented “stab wounds”said Dominique Laurens, public prosecutor in Marseille. The mother had reported him missing the day before. There were many traces of blood on the path he took from his home.
