Hopikid is a new platform created by a start-up based in Strasbourg and founded by Nancy de Meritens. The platform has signed agreements with the major film studios, from Disney to Sony via Gaumont and StudioCanal.
The platform offers two services: a monthly subscription that allows viewing of 2,200 hours of programs and a catalog of more or less recent films that can be purchased on demand, including films released four months ago such as Ernest and Celestine: the trip to Charabie. Nancy de Meritens explains that she needs 15,000 subscriptions to break even. A search engine also makes it possible to search for a fiction according to an age or a keyword. The most popular keyword is “dinosaur”.
