It is in a small street in the 14th arrondissement of Paris that the 20th day of filming for That’s Paris, the new series imagined by Dominique Besnehard. Alex Lutz plays the heir to an old cabaret, “Le Tout-Paris”, which he wants to get rid of and the director, Marc Fitoussi, regulates the sequence. He notably directed six episodes of Ten percentand even co-wrote the final season.
Once again, Dominique Besnehard, former actor agent at Artmedia, calls on his memories and has in mind a bar next to his former work: “There was a little café, a little ‘bougnat’ run by Auvergne people. We went there and there were the dancers from Crazy [Horse] who, before going to dance, had a grog or tea. There were also the actors who went to Artmedia. It was a really great coffee…”
“I have always been interested in what happens behind the scenes”
It was a dancer and leader of the Crazy Horse revue, Rita Xenen, who gave him the idea nine years ago. What Dominique Besnehard liked was talking about cabaret. Particularly with their gradual disappearance, like the Lido which, since its closure during covid, has been transformed: “I like human relationships and I like behind the scenes reports, I have always been interested in what was happening behind the scenes. Artmedia is also a bit behind the scenes, so ultimately, it could be the second part of Ten Percent.”
A Ten percent with songs composed by Bertrand Burgalat and numbers choreographed by Kamel Ouali. All filmed at Paradis Latin. Nicolas Maury will play an avant-garde choreographer. “We’ll see the review, with luxuryrejoices Dominique Besnehard. That’s why this series is expensive. It’s a bit dazzling, I can’t tell you everything, but there is a lama all the same, who has an important role!”
Filming is scheduled until February. The series will be broadcast this year on France 2.
