The fire started around noon. IIt would have started from a construction site in the middle of the scrubland, according to the firefighters of the SDIS 11. On Twitter, the Forest Fire Prevention and Reporting Association recommended to avoid the area in the middle of the day.
AT 4 p.m., 120 hectares had been covered. 260 firefighters were deployed, as well as four canadairs and two water bomber helicopters. The evolution was favorable at Montredon-des-Corbières and the forest of Fontfroide, where the bulk of the effort was concentrated.
At 5:45 p.m., firefighters announced that the fire was fixed. The fire covered 120 hectares, 103 burned in total.
