The Montreal Canadiens submit four players to waivers

The Montreal Canadiens have placed forwards Lucas Condotta and Mitchell Stephens, as well as defenders Nicolas Beaudin and Brady Keeper, on waivers with the intention of selling them to the Laval Rocket if they are not claimed.

The 31 other NHL teams have until Sunday, 2 p.m., to claim one of the players.

The Rocket, the Canadian’s farm club in the American Hockey League, will begin its camp on Monday.

Condotta, Stephens and Beaudin all wore the colors of the Rocket last winter. Keeper was signed as a free agent this summer. He played with the Abbotsford Canucks last season and had one goal and five assists in 35 games.

Stephens is 26 years old. He has 20 goals and 21 assists in 68 games with the Rocket in 2022-23. A second-round pick, 33rd overall, of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015, he played 72 career NHL games and recorded three goals and 10 assists.

Condotta, 25, was never drafted into the NHL. He played a first match with the Habs at the end of the campaign last spring, hitting the target during this game. He collected 16 goals and 15 assists in 72 games with the Rocket during the last campaign.

Beaudin was acquired by the Habs from the Chicago Blackhawks on October 26 in exchange for Cam Hillis. The 23-year-old Quebecer scored two goals and 23 assists in 39 games with the Rocket. A first-round pick, 27th overall, of the Blackhawks in 2018, Beaudin played 22 NHL games with this team, amassing two goals and four assists.

Keeper is 27 years old. He was never drafted in the NHL and played two games in the Bettman circuit with the Florida Panthers without blacking the score sheet.
