A blow for the Montbard health center.
The heavy rains of this Friday, October 21 flooded the roof terrace of the building. The water accumulated, and eventually found a way. “The water has infiltrated through the electrical ducts. As a result, it is dripping through the lampposts and the sockets” notes Laurence Porte, the mayor of Montbard who went to the scene this Saturday morning in the company of Alain Bécard, the president of the Community of Communes.
It fell 35 millimeters of rain in Côte-d’Or in less than an hour this Friday evening. “The 4th and 3rd floors are affected. They house several medical offices, such as that of the psychologist” comments Laurence Porte. “This is the first time that we are faced with this kind of thing. There had never been an alert before. This building is relatively new. It opened 7 years ago and it accommodates 21 health professionals . This Saturday afternoon, it’s time to clean up.”
Possible reopening? answer monday morning
A meeting will be held Monday morning with experts and doctors to find out if the damaged premises can reopen. Monday’s medical appointments are therefore postponed for the time being. If the situation continues, caregivers will still be able to find temporary premises at the hospital center, which is just opposite. “Our medical service is not interrupted, doctors can also go to patients’ homes” specifies the mayor of Montbard.
