The Mont-Sainte-Anne Snowboard Cross World Cup will take place

Quebecers Eliot Grondin and Audrey McManiman will finally be able to perform in front of their relatives and friends.

The Mont-Sainte-Anne Snowboardcross World Cup will take place from March 24 to 26, could be read on the website of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Thursday morning.

The Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup, which was originally scheduled to take place from February 3 to 5, had been postponed earlier this week.

The FIS then indicated that the international competition would not take place due to technical and weather problems. In addition, a gondola at the ski resort had crashed into the ground on December 10.

“The decision to postpone the event was made with the aim of providing the best possible snow conditions and a flawless course for the best athletes in the world. This additional delay will give time for seasonal temperatures to drop, thereby improving the likelihood of greater snow cover and the use of snow cannons,” explained Canada Snowboard in a press release.

These new dates also mean that the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup will become the last stage of the season.

“Which will determine the big winners of the season,” said Canada Snowboard.

Grondin won a bronze medal in the individual event and another silver in the mixed team event at the Beijing Olympics last winter. He also has two career victories on the World Cup circuit.

For his part, McManiman obtained his first World Cup podium — a third place — in Reiteralm, Austria, on December 3.
