“Uncharted”, huge video game success, is brought to the big screen this week, with Tom Holland in the lead role. Also executive producer of the film in theaters on February 16, the actor explains to us the challenge of succeeding in such an adaptation to the cinema.
After more than 40 million titles sold on PlayStation consoles, the game Uncharted is now entering the cinema. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, starring Tom Holland who also takes on the role of executive producer. Watch the video interview above.
In Uncharted, the actor shares the bill with Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas. Everyone goes in search of a lost treasure: the gold coins of the explorer Magellan. So how do you successfully adoptUncharted ? “The best way to do this was to take inspiration from the game series and of course recreate some familiar scenes from gamers. At the same time, the mistake would have been to do the exact same thing. So for the film, we tried to create something new, fresh, different. It was both challenging and fun”continues Tom Holland.
In order for the two universes to marry, the designers of the video game on PlayStation collaborated with the film team, from the script to the editing. “If we were given the responsibility of bringing this game to the screen, we wanted to work with those who had created it. So we spoke to them, they gave us their opinion, their approval too, which meant a lot to us. . Then we got the cameras ready and we started filming,” explains the one who simultaneously defends Spider-Man: No Way Homereleased in December and which has just crossed 7 million admissions.
