The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Séjourné, “recommends that the French absolutely refrain from traveling in the coming days to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian territories”, announced the Quai d’Orsay, Friday April 12. In a crisis meeting, the minister also requested the “return of the families of diplomatic agents from Tehran”, And “the ban on missions of French civil servants in these countries”.
This decision by the Quai d’Orsay comes as Iran threatens to strike Israel, accused of an attack on April 1 on the Iranian consulate in Damascus (Syria). “If Iran carries out an attack from its territory, Israel will respond and attack Iran”warned Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz. “The State of Israel will not tolerate an Iranian attack on its territory”said Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, during an interview with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin on Thursday.
