In breeding duck farms, for all those whose production is intended for export, vaccination is “prohibited“. On the other hand, voluntary work will continue to apply for establishments aiming at “national trade exclusively“.

Additional precautionary measures

The ministry also plans to “gradually reduce the density of ducks on farms” For “limit the risk of a new epizootic wave appearing“. The 45 municipalities “most densely populated with waterfowl“, located in the Pays-de-la-Loire and the Deux-Sèvres department, are concerned. In addition, the introduction of new ducks on these sites will have to be gradually limited to vaccinated animals from July. “The economic losses of breeders affected by the non-implementation as part of this de-densification strategy will be taken into account”completes the ministry, which adds that “advances” will be accessible to affected farmers.
