Barely appointed Minister ofEnational education, Amélie Oudéa-Castera is already under fire from critics. After just two days on the job, she had to backpedal. “My comments may have offended certain public education teachers, which I regret”, she told AFP. Before adding that she will always be alongside teachers and the educational community.

Questioned about the schooling of her children in a private school, Amélie Oudéa-Castera provoked controversy by criticizing public education. Traveling to Dijon (Côte-d’Or) this Saturday, the Prime Minister is also trying to debunk the controversy.
