The Minister of Health, François Braun, is visiting Nantes on Wednesday August 3. He first visited the emergency room of the CHU and met some of the caregivers to talk about the “flash mission”, the measures put in place by the government to deal with the crisis in hospitals during the summer.

Among them, the revaluation of night hours and on-call hours for nursing staff. Summer measures which, like all those of the flash mission, will be reassessed by the end of September. “The measures that are effective, that give satisfaction, we will continue them. The measures that will not have been effective or that will not have given satisfaction, we will stop them. That too, is the method that I want to impose: listening, action, results. That’s what the Prime Minister said. And that’s how we’re going to work on the results. If it doesn’t work, we stop, we do something else”underlines the Minister of Health.

Faced with the persistent lack of staff, some emergency services are reducing their opening hours for the public this summer. In Loire-Atlantique, in Ancenis, the Emergencies are closed at night. In addition, we increasingly favor the regulation of entries by the Samu. This has been the case throughout Vendée since the end of July: all emergencies at night must now be filtered by 15.
However, the Minister of Health refuses to talk about “emergency closures”. “I think we have to stop with this term that is used all the time, which is a term that scareshe believes. There is no closure, there is medically regulated access or access by carers to the Emergency services in places where there are no longer the human means to operate without this regulation. And this regulation, it does not bring a degradation of the care as I can hear, but on the contrary it brings a better orientation of the patients according to the needs.
