Nearly 62,000 new contaminations have been detected every day over the past week, according to Public Health France.

It was one of the measures envisaged by the government to deal with the resumption of the Covid-19 epidemic. “I ask the French to put the mask back on transport”announced the Minister of Health and Prevention Brigitte Bourguignon, Monday, June 27 on RTL.
It is not a “obligation”however, specifies the Minister, who adds that this recommendation also applies to “all closed places (implying a strong) promiscuity”. She mentioned the “civic duty”consists in “protect yourself, against a very transmissible variant”but also to “protect others, especially the most vulnerable”.
The epidemic is on the rise again
The wearing of mask had been lifted by the government in May, but the number of daily cases has since started to rise again, with 62,036 daily cases over the past seven days, according to Public Health France. The number of hospitalizations has also been steadily increasing for two weeks, with 707 hospitalizations recorded over the last seven days.
Brigitte Bourguignon was beaten in the second round of the legislative elections on June 19. In accordance with the doctrine established by the president, she should therefore leave the government of Elisabeth Borne during her upcoming reshuffle, in “the first days of July” according to Emmanuel Macron.
