Annie Genevard, the Minister of Agriculture, promises a “compensatory response” for breeders and the establishment of a “vaccine strategy”, Thursday October 3 on France Bleu Pays d’Auvergne, without specifying the amount of the envelope, nor the details of the vaccination strategy.
She will present these measures at the Livestock Summit in Clermont-Ferrand, where she is expected Thursday morning. But the measures will be officially announced by Prime Minister Michel Barnier the following day, Friday, during his visit to the Livestock Summit.
On September 22, Arnaud Rousseau, president of the first agricultural union, the FNSEA, gave the minister 15 days to announce emergency measures on subsidized loans to cereal growers, wine growers and breeders in crisis and on the vaccination of herds, in the context of the bluetongue epizootic.
