On February 1, 2023, Guillaume Canet unveiled the result of four years of hard work. In effect, “Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom” has finally been screened in dark rooms to the delight of fans… but also critics. Because yes, detractors, there are many and the supposed ex of Marion Cotillard will probably not say the opposite. He who has to face a shower of criticism from some for his latest film. Critics or not, Guillaume Canet nevertheless recorded 2,892,585 admissions two weeks after its release. A quite honorable score which also proves that the criticisms, and what can be said on the networks, do not always reflect the truth. Dany Boon is proof of that. Indeed, the 56-year-old actor gave an interview to our colleagues from Figaro on the occasion of the release of François Ozon’s new film, “My crime”. A film in which Dany Boon plays the role of Palmarède, an entrepreneur from Marseille.

Dany Boon gives his opinion on the film “Asterix” by Guillaume Canet

Asked about François Ozon’s film, Dany Boon also revealed that he had been offered to make an “Asterix” but that he had “said no several times”.

Despite his refusal, he was able to discover the work of Guillaume Canet and give his opinion. “I saw Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom, I found it very funny”he assured before evoking the many tackles with regard to the supposed ex of Marion Cotillard: “I don’t understand the violence with which Guillaume Canet was attacked… A real bashing“. The 56-year-old actor recalls that he too has already been smash” and he does “don’t think we get used to it”. A tender attention that should delight Guillaume Canet.
