It’s almost two visions of the world that clashnt on the 11 p.m. set. On the one hand We Demain journalist Armelle Oger and on the other, engineer Corentin de Chatelperron. Ebetween romantic encounters in the metaverse and low-tech at the service of the future.

Will young people abandon dating apps in favor of the metaverse, this virtual and immersive universe? In this 2.0 world, users and their avatars give free rein to the imagination, while keeping a playful and social side. Armelle Oger illustrates this new reality with the story of an Indian couple who were able to celebrate their wedding in Harry Potter’s Hogwarts, and even bring in the avatar of the bride’s deceased father. A universe still in its infancy, but which companies intend to develop.

In another register, Corentin de Chatelperron embarked on a world tour for 6 years on his laboratory boat “Le Nomade des mers”. He unearthed nearly 150 low-tech finds, “technologies or know-how that are both useful, that meet basic needs, accessible to all, sustainable, respectful of humans and the planet”.

By documenting them and making tutorials to make them accessible to everyone, Corentin de Chatelperron hopes to inspire people to replicate these technologies to solve the problems of the future.
