On Wednesday September 14th, crowds are numerous in the souvenir shops of London, in the United Kingdom. Everyone wants to buy an object in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

In London (United Kingdom), near Buckingham, souvenir shops are taken by storm after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Since his death, sales of souvenirs bearing his effigy have multiplied, and prices have risen. Thus, the latest mugs cost around 20 pounds, or 23 euros. “I’m from London, but I don’t usually come here. I found gifts for the family, souvenirs”explains a man.

During the Queen’s Jubilee, souvenir sales had reached 323 million euros. This record could be broken with the death of Elizabeth II. “We have to place an order, because we are out of products“, indicates Ismayil Pang, manager of a souvenir shop. For his part, the official royal shop is closed, due to mourning. Objects bearing the effigy of Charles III are being prepared, even if some are already available on the internet.In London, the shops will have to wait one or two weeks to be supplied with objects bearing the image of the new king.
