We learned last week that Megan Lalonde was playing lawyer on social networks and that she had thus cheated dozens of people. The young woman allegedly defrauded her victims out of thousands of dollars, who believed they were speaking to a real lawyer on Instagram or TikTok.

She defends herself
Megan Lalonde, who describes herself on Instagram as “Quebec’s favorite fake real lawyer”, was stingy with comments on Tuesday.

She then denied her name was Megan Lalonde and swore she was a real lawyer. However, she still refused to reveal objective proof of what she is saying. Note that the Quebec Bar has confirmed that none of its members bear the name Megan Lalonde.
Since 2022, Megan Lalonde has been found guilty of six counts of fraud in Beauce, Shawinigan, Joliette and Gatineau. The twenty-year-old has always avoided prison by receiving only fines, community service and probation periods.
An actor among the victims
Several alleged victims of the fake lawyer publicly denounced her on TikTok this week, such as actor and rapper Yes Mccan, whose real name is Jean-François Ruel.

Mr. Ruel, known for his character Damien in the series Runaway, claims in particular to have almost lost thousands of dollars because of this fake lawyer. He would also have traveled from Montreal to Drummondville to meet her, but she would have failed him by multiplying the excuses.
Note that he also apologized in one of his videos for having defended her on social networks by falsely claiming to have seen her and even touched her, which never happened.
