Among these 17 associations, two are suspected of having used this envelope for other purposes, in particular political, according to a survey by France 2. The association “Reconstruire le Commun” is the second association in question, according to franceinfo confirming a information from Mediapart. The association was selected when it had no achievements to its credit, nor a website, since its statutes had been registered less than two weeks after the assassination of Samuel Paty.
359,250 euros allocated to “Rebuilding the Commons”
Between May 2021 and during 2022, the Committee for the Prevention of Radicalization under the supervision of Marlène Schiappa and Gérald Darmanin allocates 359,250 euros to “Reconstruct the Common” taken from the Marianne Fund. This sum must in particular finance a Youtube channel to broadcast a republican counter-speech aimed at 18-25 year olds tempted by separatism. Except that some of the 57 videos posted online by the association from January to August 2022, during the presidential election campaign, tend to denigrate opponents of Emmanuel Macron, in particular the rebellious Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the socialist Anne Hidalgo, according to information from franceinfo.
The first deputy mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, contacted by France Inter, sees in these videos “an organized political demolition company”. “We are very clearly in a suspicion of barbouzerie”, he launches.
