The mayor of Montargis Benoit Digeon, filed a complaint against X after a demonstration during which a sign circulated “Digeon Execution”learned France Bleu Orléans.“For me, it’s clearly bullying,” the chosen one is indignant. “We can’t let things like that become commonplace, especially when there is a deputy and elected officials in the procession. In addition, sending this kind of message to a kid is also a question of morality”.

Saturday, May 13, a hundred people demonstrated in Montargis, in support of the Cercle Pasteur Montargis Gymnastics, which brings together 390 members. The association will soon no longer be able to use the municipal gymnasium Jacques Neveu, which will force it to stop its activities. At the head of the procession were the president of the Cercle Pasteur, the deputy RN Thomas Ménagé and some municipal councilors of the opposition. Just behind them, a teenager held up a sign that read “Digeon Execution”.

The leaders of the Cercle Pasteur plead the misunderstanding

“We were not targeting the mayor” explains Florian Sandin, vice-president of the association, “we wanted to say that he had executed us by deciding not to make any more gymnasts available. Our association is doomed. But we will never physically attack him. We remain a club and an association with young people , children. We are also here to set an example”. The association also specifies that the sign was put away before the end of the demonstration, at the request of the deputy Thomas Ménagé.

Cercle Pasteur Montargis gymnastics explains that it also filed a complaint on Tuesday against the assistant to the economy, Philippe Mallet. According to her, during the passage of the procession in the city center, he made gestures of death threats in the direction of several demonstrators.
