A unanimous decision. The municipal council of Barbentane gave the authorization to the mayor, Jean-Christophe Daudet, to carry complaint against X to obtain compensation after the fire which occurred on July 14 on the Montagnette.
Before the vote, the SDIS firefighters took the floor to explain their management of the fire, as well as their impressive propagation speed. According to Commander Nicolas Raboin, the fire would have moved up to 2.5 km / h on certain plots. Representatives of the National Forestry Office (ONF) were also invited to explain the impact of this fire on the Montagnette, and especially the prospects – in the long term – for the regeneration of the vegetation of the massif.
The Barbentanais and Barbentananaises were able to attend this extraordinary council, moved to the village hall of Barbentane for the occasion. A “logic of transparency” according to the mayor, who was appreciated by the inhabitants, still reeling from the fire.
