The defendants were presented Wednesday before the judge of freedoms and detention. A judicial investigation for “trafficking and possession of narcotics” was opened by the prosecution. The elected official was arrested and placed in police custody for 72 hours, just like her two brothers. The preliminary investigation, launched in October 2023 of the drug trafficking leader, made it possible to “accuse two brothers of Jamilah Habsaoui as being able to habitually purchase and resell narcotics from their sister’s home”, said the prosecutor in his press release. In addition to the drugs, 7,143 euros in cash and two gold bars were discovered during searches of the suspects’ home.
