The mayor of Ajaccio, Stéphane Sbraggia, has requested the cancellation of the Ligue 1 Ajaccio-OM match which is to be held on Saturday June 3 during the 38th and final day of Ligue 1, after incidents in his city on Friday June 2 at evening, which caused four minor injuries, he told AFP. “Tomorrow we have to cancel the game“and that the Marseille supporters expected by boat”do not disembark“in order to avoid that they”expose themselves to a risk of violence which is already present and which could, I fear, grow uncontrollably“, explained the chosen one.

When there is an actual disturbance of public order, a threat to the safety of persons and property, I think that these measures are not disproportionate. There is still time to limit the damage“, he pleaded before speaking with the prefect on this subject. According to him, incidents occurred between around sixty Marseille supporters present in a hotel in the center which “started throwing whatever came to hand from the floors” And “at the bottom of the Ajaccien supporters who circled around“.

Two municipal decrees and a prefectural decree had however been taken in particular to prohibit the few “600 to 700 Marseille supporters“expected in total for the match to access the center of Ajaccio, where a local party is also held. In the end, four minor injuries were taken to hospital after these incidents, according to the firefighters.
