We have to wait a little longer to listen to the new album of the Laval group Archimède. “Brothers” will be released next year but you can already participate in their crowdfunding. In 10 days, Nicolas and Frédéric Boisnard have already raised 38,000 euros, 15,000 euros on the first day of the operation! For this new album, the Mayenne brothers are therefore embarking on the adventure without a label.
Lockdowns have changed the game
“We had a label and we always had record labelssays Nicolas Boisnard. Then, a moment comes after the Covid when we realize that the situation is changing, that this health crisis has reshuffled the cards. At one point, we even doubted whether to continue in this profession because it still raised a lot of questions with the successive confinements.”
The people are really there. They are loyal and I believe they love us.
Fortunately, the Laval group can count on its public. “We quickly realized that we had a large enough and loyal enough community to be able to do without a label. We said to ourselves, ‘What if we embarked on a crowdfunding adventure, that is to say a participation campaign through which people would abound to pre-buy the future album? That’s what artists like Les Fatals Picards or Mademoiselle K do. We did it and we don’t regret it, because the people are really there. They are loyal and I believe they love us.”
Play on trust
The proof : the first day, the group raises 15,000 euros, exceeding its first level. In 10 days, the campaign reached 38,000 euros. “It was unexpected, bunch of sweet crazy,” write the singers on their Facebook page. “VSis to play on the basis of trust in fact, that everything was created, that people aboundexplains Frédéric Boisnard. They trust us. We have already released five albums and they liked each of them. And they are here for the sixth. They pre-buy it, without having really listened to it, except for a little live performance of the first song. It’s that the trust is there.”
