the maximum night-time temperature in France recorded in La Hague, with 32.8°C tonight

Almost 33°C at 3am. This was noted by Météo France in La Hague on the night of July 18 to 19, i.e. the night temperature the hottest in metropolitan France. Other absolute temperature records, beating those of 2003, were also recorded earlier in the day in several towns in Manche.

This Tuesday, July 19 at 6 a.m., Météo France has however raised vigilance orange heatwave for the Channel. Red vigilance is also lifted for the whole of France, but 73 departments are placed in orange vigilance for heat waves and/or storms.
