The worm is in the fruit on the side of the City of Marseille. The Marseille public prosecutor’s office is opening an investigation following the complaint of a municipal agent about the misappropriation of parts on city vehicles, confirming information revealed by our colleagues from 20 minutes. In total, nearly 2,000 cars would be affected by these thefts which are spread over several years.
Vehicle weight
What puts the chip in the ear of this agent, it is the weight of the cars of the City. Some are relieved of hundreds of kilos, which suggests that they are not whole. The tanks are siphoned off, but above all certain parts are stolen, such as the tires, when they reach the scrapyard. For some vehicles, they weigh half as heavy as their initial weight and this is noticed repeatedly, hence the idea of an organized system, underlines to our colleagues the lawyer who lodged the complaint, master Amine Taiebi.
Officer threatened
Since the complaint was filed by the City agent, the latter, who worked in the car park department, denounces harassment and threats from her colleagues. She had to be changed service. Another complaint for these facts has been filed.
