Energy renovation: the MaPrimeRénov’ system remains misunderstood
Energy renovation: the MaPrimeRénov’ system remains misunderstood
(France 2)
Since January 2024, the rules for benefiting from MaPrimeRénov’ have been tightened. Requests for this government assistance for energy renovation are decreasing.
In a house in Val-d’Oise, energy renovation work should have started three months ago. However, everything is at a standstill. The owner of the house would like to use MaPrimeRénov’, but she does not understand this government assistance. “We have the feeling that one day it’s white, one day it’s black. (…) It’s never the same thing”, explains Élodie, owner. Since January 2024, the rules of MaPrimeRénov’ have changed. To encourage overall renovations, aid is no longer granted for a simple change of window, for example.
The government could announce new measures
A guide is also required for the work. These more restrictive measures caused requests for aid to fall by 40% at the start of the year. “We have no major renovation projects underway, even though we have between 10 and 12 people for whom we have agreements in principle”, notes Hugues Sartre, entrepreneur, co-founder of “Homyos”. The government could announce new measures concerning accompanying persons. Their presence would be reserved for the most subsidized projects.
