Jason Spezza, Auston Matthews, David Kampf and Mitch Marner took turns flashing the red light in the first twenty. Monday, it was the Devils who started the game strong with two quick goals, before the Leafs came from behind to win 6-4.

Michael Bunting and Pierre Engvall also beat Jon Gillies, who was kicked out of the game after giving up six times on 28 pitches. In relief, Akira Schmid blocked seven shots.

With his second of the game in third, Marner totaled four points, threading the needle in his last seven outings. He has 16 points during this prolific streak.

After giving up three times in under 10 minutes on Monday, Jack Campbell allowed just one goal for Jack Hughes as he was tested 32 times. He had allowed at least three goals in his last six outings.

The Devils have lost their last six games.
