He is one of the most famous criminals in France. Rédoine Faïd, a self-taught thug convicted on multiple occasions, is above all the “king of beauty”. On his record, two highly spectacular escapes.
Since the end of November 2023, he has returned to the walls of Vendin-le-Vieil prison (Pas-de-Calais) after a trial which earned him a sentence of 14 years in prison for his escape by helicopter from the prison of Réau in 2018. With his other convictions, notably for a robbery in Roclincourt (Pas-de-Calais) in 2011, and for the escape from Loos-Sequedin prison in 2013, he should remain incarcerated until 2060.
The magazine “Affaires Sensitive”, presented by Fabrice Drouelle, investigated the contrasting trajectory of this film-loving robber, now 52 years old. His image as a gentleman bandit has been tarnished since he participated, in 2010, in an attempted robbery in which Aurélie Fouquet, a young municipal police officer, lost her life.
In this documentary, unpublished testimonies reveal the surprising facets of the man who was, briefly, a repentant writer.
