The management of the Purpan hospital in Toulouse, on Monday, October 25, ordered the medical boarding school association to remove a fresco located in the boarding school refectory, France Bleu Occitanie reports. This giant painting, which diverts the picture Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix, was tried “sexist” and “humiliating”.

It represents men and women, naked, having sex or in degrading positions. According to France Bleu Occitanie, this painting also represents CHU executives.

Dare feminism is indignant at this fresco. “It’s pornographic! To represent a woman on all fours eating garbage or others wearing dog collars is absolutely degrading to the image of the woman”, denounced Frédérique Ghroum, activist of the association.

“These students have made sex objects out of women, it is despicable”

Isabelle Prono, member of the South union

at France Bleu Occitanie

Gauthier, an intern interviewed by France Bleu Occitanie, assures us that this “is part of the folklore of medicine” and “not intended to hurt someone”. Cassandre, one of his comrades, does not judge the fresco sexist either, believing that “it’s just tradition” and “it’s part of rifle culture”.

The South union of the Toulouse University Hospital filed Saturday, October 23 an alert procedure for serious and imminent danger with the management. Management seems to have heard this request. Monday evening, the CHU and its faculties insisted on their “strictest attachment to the fight against any form of attack on the dignity of persons”.
