They met through the Narcotics Anonymous association, and talked together for many years, until the death of the star producer and host in August 2012… This Friday, January 12, Camel Guelloul, a close friend of Jean-Luc Delarue, came to give a testimony on the descent into hell of the creator of It is discussed And It’s a story, who tried everything to put an end to his demons, but never succeeded. Camel reveals that he was a crutch for Jean-Luc Delarue until his death from stomach cancer almost twelve years ago: “He tells me : It’s been a few months (since I stopped) and I can’t do it, I’m going to lose myself. There is BFMTV, there are lots of things that are there, and they are just waiting for that.”
“First surprised” by the bond he created with Jean-Luc Delarue, the latter bet everything on Camel to put an end to his drug addiction: “He completely relied on me. I found myself helping him unhook. Afterwards, he started talking about his Tour de France in a motorhome (…) I found myself moving with him. Afterwards, we really got on with it, and he became someone for whom I had a lot of respect.” Their friendship was a saving grace for Jean-Luc Delarue, with Camel Guelloul claiming to have succeeded in weaning him completely: “He had completely let go of Jean-Luc” recognizes the former drug addict, who is very proud of this nice victory despite the brutal death of the producer.
Pierre Palmade refused his help
Asked about any celebrities who have since contacted him to help them quit, Camel dropped a bombshell by revealing that he had been approached by Pierre Palmade’s family. But surprise, the man refused to help him, and for a very specific reason: “It’s not you I want to have, it’s him. As long as he doesn’t take the step, I… there it is, it’s simple. We can’t help people against them. From as long as they’re ok…otherwise, it doesn’t work.” Presumably, if Pierre Palmade’s family wanted to help him extricate himself from his demons, the latter never deigned to contact him and ask for his help…
